What Are Bail Bondsman Allowed To Do?

In any job there are going to be some specific responsibilities we need to do and then there are going to be some areas that are simply implied, with no specific set of written rules or regulations.  When looking at working with Huntington Beach Bail Bonds, there will be specific rules that a bondsman can and can’t do.

Be licensed

The first thing that a company like Acme Bail Bonds Huntington Beach will do is make sure that you, as a prospective bondsman, are licensed and that the license is in good standing.  There may come times when a license needs to be renewed or there may be strikes against a specific license for one reason or another.  In these situations the license must be cleared before they are hired.

Carry a Gun

As a bondsman you will find yourself in a lot of different situations.  These situations will require you to have a weapon, specifically a gun.  When carrying a gun, it needs to be carried correctly, locked on safety and can only be drawn or discharged in specific situations.  If these are not met, if any incident results in improper use or action, the bondman can be stripped of their weapon, and worse.

Enter a fugitives house

If you are on bond, the accused will have to give a list of locations that they will reside.  If the accused is not at any of these locations but somewhere not on the list, the bondsman does not have the right to simply enter the house, even if the person they are looking for is inside.  In these situations, they will need to call a law enforcement officer to come and make an arrest or have probable cause to enter.  The best thing to do in these situations is to have someone else enter and make the arrest.
